Dear Dealey Parents, Community, and Friends:

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed principal of George Bannerman Dealey Montessori and International Academy. The 2015-16 school year will mark my 20th year of service in the Dallas Independent School District. Throughout the years, I have gained a variety of elementary and secondary experiences. I began my career teaching kindergarten at Joseph J. Rhoads Learning Center in south Dallas. After 5 years of teaching early elementary grades at Rhoads, I received my Master Reading Teacher’s Certification and moved to S.S. Conner Elementary where I coached and mentored teachers and provided reading interventions to K-5th grade students. From Conner, I moved to Bryan Adams High School and served the next three years as Program Development Specialist and Assistant Principal. My most recent experience has been shaped by two years of leadership as principal of F.P. Caillet Elementary. I am elated to bring my skills and experiences to Dealey and partner with you in your child’s education.

As principal at Dealey, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success that has been established over the past years. I am committed to building strong relationships with staff, parents, and community partners to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. For the past eight years, I have been fortunate enough to have one of my own children attend Dealey to learn and grow in the Montessori classrooms. Through these experiences, I have been able to see the positive effects of this learning method and am eager to support the Montessori philosophy in the PK – 6th classrooms and the international focus in the 7th and 8th grades.

I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and getting to know you and your children better. I appreciate the opportunities I have already been afforded to personally introduce myself to staff members, students, and parents. Through these introductions, I have become even more excited to begin working with such a dedicated team and anticipate a most successful school year.

Please feel free to contact me via e-mail at Belusk@dallasisd.org with any questions or concerns you may have. Again, I look forward to working with you and your children.
