The Dealey PTA is a dedicated volunteer group of parents and teachers who provide extraordinary financial, manpower and service support for various school activities.
The PTA strives to enrich your child’s academic life at Dealey by coordinating and encouraging parental participation and therefore ensuring availability of valuable programs for your children. Assisting children in reading skills by listening to children read, staffing the Nature Exchange by providing volunteers, continuing our gardening program with hands on participation by the children, are only made possible through the efforts of volunteers.
Why join PTA? Studies show that children achieve more in school when parents are involved in the process – and the Dealey PTA has plenty of opportunities for parents.
Because Dealey is considered a magnet school, it actually receives a lower level of funding than a regular DISD school. The good news is Dealey continues to be rated as Exemplary thanks to our fantastic teachers and administrators. The Dealey PTA works hard to bridge the financial gap by raising funds through various means, including:
- Fall Carnival
- Purple Cow Nights
- Chuck E Cheese Nights
- Boxtops for Education
- Spring Auction Event
- Individual Donations
- Corporate Donations
In the 2010-11 school year the Dealey PTA raised $27,000 for items such as new cafeteria tables, smart boards for classrooms and special Montessori teaching materials.
The PTA also helps coordinate the Dragon Wishes board where teachers post specific needs from within their classrooms.

(two memberships / one directory)
- Meetings are held five times a year in the school cafeteria. Childcare is provided in the gymnasium.
- Spanish language translations are provided during meetings
